Covered in class are teaching techniques that require approval and techniques that are never allowed by a paid professional. The student will not only learn about the rights of people with developmental disabilities but how to assist someone in expressing those rights. The class will also give the student tips on how to positively support someone when teaching a new skill. The student will learn about what a behavior plan is and why they are used. Ultimately, the learner will leave Article 9 class understanding that Article 9 in practice is about assisting another person in not only maintaining dignity but finding more of it.

I think it would be helpful to Parents taking the course for the first time to Print out the Article 9 Packet and have Highlighters and also Take Notes if they wish! This was a Very Great and Informative Class! Thank You Chris! There was a lot of Information covered in that 4 hour class!

The instructor stayed on track with topics, and on schedule. Also to add, as a night time class, it's hard to stay awake, but he included several stories and anecdotes to keep participants tuned in and engaged.

I found this course to be very thorough and very informative. I thought the instructor did an amazing job answering questions and going over import ant information required for the test but also very useful information for me when caring for my child.
